A significant standoff has emerged in Chennai as conservancy workers of the Greater Chennai Corporation have been engaged in a 13-day protest, vehemently opposing the privatization of conservancy operations in specific zones. The demonstrations have escalated, leading to arrests, but the Madras High Court has now intervened, ordering the release of lawyers and law students who were detained in connection with the protests.
