On the eve of Independence Day, Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi delivered a striking address, highlighting what he termed ‘very serious challenges’ facing the state, including an alarming rise in suicides, widespread drug abuse among youth, and a concerning increase in sexual offenses against women and children. His remarks have, however, been met with swift and sharp criticism from the ruling DMK, which dismissed the accusations as politically motivated. [4, 13, 15]
