Human Rights Under Threat? Concerns Mount Over Maharashtra’s Security Bill

Amnesty International India has voiced grave concerns, urgently appealing to the Maharashtra Governor to withhold assent from the recently passed Maharashtra Special Public Security Bill. The human rights organization argues that the bill, framed as a countermeasure against ‘urban naxalism,’ employs vague language and ideologically biased provisions that directly threaten constitutionally and internationally protected human rights.
